For this project we were asked to designed a modern four bedroom family home, to replace a small, tired bungalow. The site in Lower Heswall on the Wirral has outstanding views across the Dee Estuary to wales.
We wanted to reduce the impact of the new house from the road and surrounding buildings, so utilised the existing slope of the plot to create a split level design. By excavating extensively at the rear of the property, we increased the living space available by incorporating a lower ground floor into the design, which is to be used as a lounge area that opens up onto the garden.
The main kitchen and family living space are on the upper ground floor which has a spectacular view point across the Dee.
