We were approached by the owners of a tired bungalow in Lower Heswall to design a contemporary replacement dwelling on part of their existing garden and to provide a development plot that they could sell. We designed an energy efficient home with open plan first floor living accommodation and ground floor bedrooms. The rear elevation has extensive glass elements which flood the living space with natural light and allow access onto the raised balcony overlooking the garden. The windows in the front elevation are modest in comparison to provide a degree of privacy from the road.
