Beachfront House, Hoylake - Residential Redevelopment

This domestic scheme consists of extension and refurbishment to a Georgian, detached family home in Hoylake.  The house is located in a beachfront location, part of the Kings Gap Conservation Area. The design has been driven by maximizing the views to the waterfront and Hilbre island and orientating the key family spaces towards the views.  The new plan rationalizes the spaces around the kitchen which provides a more efficient space and route through the house.  The façade treatment differs between the two zones of the extension. Floor to ceiling glass is used in the new family room and the smaller, playroom is a solid form with a feature box window creating a window seat and play opportunity.
